In a dental clinic, no two visits are the same length. A check-up is quick. A root canal or an extraction is not. A token number alone tells a patient nothing about when they will be seen. Glide gives each patient an expected time that takes this into account.
Wait times that know a root canal from a check-up
Glide sorts each booking into a dental reason group: tooth pain, root canal, extraction, filling, cleaning, braces, check-up or other. It learns from your finished visits how long each dentist takes for each group, and adds those up for everyone ahead of a patient.
It also looks at the patient’s own past visits with the same dentist for the same kind of reason. So a patient on their third sitting of a root canal gets a time based on how their earlier sittings went.
The desk can mark a visit as quick or long when it knows better, and the times ahead adjust.
Dental reasons stay with dentists
If your dental practice shares a building with a general physician, Glide keeps the two apart. Tooth pain, a filling or braces go only to a dentist. A fever or a cough never goes to a dentist.
Fewer gaps in the chair
Patients see their place on a live link and get a message when they are 3 away and when it is their turn. A patient who cannot come replies "cancel" and the place goes to the next person. The visits view shows who did not come, so you can follow up.
